“Skrite” your friends messages in the sky

Skrite is the latest social media app who is using augmented reality. The app doesn’t yet work on Android or Windows devices, but it has been launched in iOS. Skrite allows you to write private or public messages in the sky.

You can use it for personal use by writing messages for a certain person (who is Skrite registered) or as a company – to push out a brand, a product or even an event connected to a location and a date. Businesses have embraced augmented reality for viral ad campaigns, most notably Momofuku’s David Chang who used AR app to push out his new sneakers with Nike.

Pros: Creative concepts, an accessible interface and worldwide engagement.

Cons: Low download numbers, mediocre AR and limited messaging options.
